    Analysis of common defects in injection molding


    Short shot

    Problems of technology: plasticizing temperature is too low; nozzle temperature is to low; injection molding
           time is too short; injection molding speed is too slow or mold temperature is too low.

    Problems of mold: runner is too small; gate is too small; gate position is not reasonable; poor ventilation or
           there are adulterants in the mold cavity.

    Problems of raw material: poor flowability or there are adulterants among them.


    Flashing

    Problems of technology: plasticizing temperature is too high; injection molding time is too long; feeding
           volume is too large; injection molding pressure is too high; mold temperature is too high or there are adulterants
           between two plates.

    Problems of mold: distortion of mold; there is error between the size of mold core and that of mold cavity;
           plate asse mbly is not parallel or the air vent is too deep.

    Problems of equipment: unparallel plates or the plates can not close tightly.

    Problems of raw material: too high flowability.


    Distortion

    Problems of technology: material temperature is too high; mold temperature is too high; pressure holding
           time is too short; force the mold to release when the cooling time is not enough.
